“Riding a tide of youthful energy, 'The Great and The Good' is delivered with infectious enthusiasm and fizz. It even features a break for some hand-clap friendly drumbeats and a crowd-pleasing "whooooa-whoooooa" gang vocal that's guaranteed to give any live audience a vocal chord workout. 3/5”

Max Raptor cannot be faulted for giving it his all. From start to finish the song is full of energy, verve and likeability to an extent. It is these good qualities that tend to make a rather stale song slightly better. The song itself is nothing out of the ordinary, basic rock by numbers from start to finish. Sadly apart from the enthusiasm shown in the delivery it has nothing to make it stand out from the hundreds of other tracks that fly around the airwaves and indie clubs each day. The vocals are solid, if not overly charismatic and the lead guitars and rhythm section are all well attuned to each other.

I have absolutely no doubt that this band can grow into their sound a lot more over the coming months and if they manage to find that something extra then they could well be on the road to better things. As for this offering, it is just about good enough to warrant a purchase.
