Clangers and Mash is not an album per say. Herbert wanted to mark the release of her new single ‘Perfect Fit' and so presents this here alongside remixed versions of previously released tracks. ‘Perfect Fit' is a smiley, upbeat song. The happiness it exudes is infectious - maybe it's the handclaps and the ukulele (!). The Mr Solo remix is still great but it's Herbert's voice that makes the song a winner for me. The fact that it still works in this different format though is a testament to the simplicity of the song in the first place.

‘My Mini and Me' is remixed by Polar Bear and is much simpler than the original stomper of a track that appears on All the Ghosts. Her powerful vocals are a sharp contrast to the happy-go-lucky vocals on ‘Perfect Fit'. ‘Midnight Oil' gets the accapella treatment and the emotion in her voice is ever present, showcasing her versatility.

This mini album is merely a showcase for the new single ‘Perfect Fit'. Upon listening, I immediately wanted more and dug out her back catalogue. This is an artist steeped in talent that has left me wanting more.
