Financial Times
4 Stars

Empirical's mix of structure and freedom is nourished by the atmospheric modernism that so characterised Blue Note's cutting edge in the early 60's. Saxophonist Nathaniel Facey adds squawk to a hard tone, Lewis Wright shimmers and pulses on vibes and pianist George Vogel guests.
