The Eighties saw many talented session musicians playing the London club scene as an avenue to experiment with their own music, away from the often very contrived music featured in the charts at the dictate of the record companies.
SFX was not a band heading for the charts, it was a power house letting off steam. Raw spirit and enthusiasm coupled with pure technical brilliance amazed delighted audiences.

If you were every fortunate enough to attend one of the SFX gigs at the Cricketers in London you'll know what we mean.
This disc re-captures those electric performances, which bucked the traditional sounds of the time. This is music made by friends who were able to draw on their vast experience playing with some of the world's finest.
Alan Murphy became a friend of Naim through his love of great sounding recordings and faithful music reproduction. The Londoner was very fond of visiting our base in Salisbury.
Almost ten years after the album SFX was made and four years after Murphy's premature death, Naim finally made this rare recording available to the public, remastered by the accomplished ears of our founder and music fanatic Julian Vereker.
