In recognition of their phenomenal success this year, both in the recording studio and on the road, the Neil Cowley Trio have been nominated for the UK Jazz Artist of the Year award, by the inaugural Jazz Fm Awards 2013, the newest event in the music industry's calendar.

Jazz Fm, the fastest growing DAB radio station in the UK, assembled a panel of international experts - a who's who in the jazz world - to select a total of 34 nominations that recognise and commend those who have made exceptional contributions to jazz this year, and to celebrate the work of musicians, composers and contributors from across the globe. It is the public however, that will decide which artist will collect the UK Jazz Artist of the Year gong as the trio go head to head with fellow nominees Jamie Cullum and Troyka in a public vote which opens on 1st November. The winners will be named at the awards ceremony on January 31st at Number One Marylebone which will be broadcast live on Jazz FM.

This nomination comes hot on the heels of the trio's shortlist for the Genre Spotlight Award at the AIM Independent Music Awards, hosted by The Association of Independent Music, an award that celebrates the depth and breadth of genres that make up the contemporary music scene.

Both nominations fall at the end of Neil Cowley Trio's most successful year to date. Fresh from a triumphant tour of the United States, the trio head straight into a remarkable collaboration with Goldsmiths University in a project involving a 30 piece string orchestra for a special, never-been-done-before performance at the Barbican for the London Jazz Festival; the trio's largest ever UK concert. Their current release, The Face of Mount Molehill was released earlier this year to enormous critical acclaim and is Naim Jazz's biggest selling release of 2012.

Described by Time Out as "the most passionate and important album of his career so far" The Face of Mount Molehill, is released on 180gm black wax on 12th November. Cut at the famous Abbey Road Studios by legendary engineer Steve Rooke, each disc comes with a unique download code that offers an HD download of the album from Naim Jazz.
