Charlie Haden & Antonio Forcione

Charlie Haden & Antonio Forcione
Beautiful interplay between a master architect of the double bass and an Italian star of the acoustic guitar. A formidable jazz duo with a Mediterranean edge.

Biography

Naim is so pleased to have had the opportunity once again to work with the legendary bass player Charlie Haden. Famed for his ground-breaking work with Ornette Coleman, which started over fifty years ago in New York. Charlie has played and recorded with nearly every musical luminary you can think of.

This collaboration, one of Charlie's most recent duo pairings takes a similar shape to Haden's Grammy award winning ‘Beyond The Missouri Sky', which he recorded with Pat Metheny in 1997, as it is composed quite simply and discretely of upright bass and nylon string guitar.

This was a momentous occasion in the recorded history of Naim, both artists being collectively Naim's biggest selling artists at the time and their work together received wide spread critical acclaim.

"Forcione's solo set piece always delivers sparkling, percussive runs, his hands flashing against the neck of the guitar while rapping a beat against the instrument's body. Guitar heroics, yes, but with a touch of class."
