Sabina Sciubba is vocal jazz's best-kept secret. It was Forcione who granted Sabina an opportunity to woo the record buying public, forming a timeless bond in soul, jazz and all things continental.
Antonio Forcione was on tour in Germany, when he chanced upon the stunning tone and control of twenty-something Sabina Sciubba at an after-show celebration. Upon his return to the UK, he made a beeline for Naim Audio with a spur-of-the-moment idea to take this amazing young lady into the studio. That was how good she was. Everywhere she sung, jaws would drop.
Born the daughter of Italian and German parents, Sabina was born in Rome in 1975 and was brought up in France and Germany. By the time Sabina was a teenager, she was fluent in six languages, all of which she incorporated into her debut album with Antonio.
Her rich vocal tone projected the impression of a singer with ten times her experience as a vocalist. Sabina was passionate for popular soul and R n' B but would execute jazz standards as if they were her very own prodigies.
The congregation of such fine talents was one of the most important in the history of Naim Label.
